Here is the official notice that was sent out by Dave Pomeroy. I appreciate the forumites that donated to the fund. I apoligize to the ones that think this is some sort of get rich deal for a select few. It's not.
I'm spending most of my vacation working on flood releif efforts. It is a big challenge to get money earmarked for working musicians from the big benefits but we are trying. Check out MusicCares online if you all are not comfortable with this particular effort.
"The Nashville Musicians Flood Relief Fund is now accepting applications from musicians who have been impacted by the Nashville Flood. The Fund is created and administered by the Nashville Musicians Association, AFM Local 257. Applications may be made by Local 257 members and also non-members who are professional musicians who lost musical equipment in the flood. The Flood Relief Fund application form is now available online at www.nashvillemusicians.org.

So far, over $35,000 has been donated by other AFM Locals, the Recording Musicians Association, and many other individuals and organizations from around the world, all of whom are greatly appreciated. You can donate to the Nashville Musicians Flood Relief Fund at any Suntrust Branch, or online via PayPal at the Local 257 website at www.nashvillemusicians.org, where our Flood Damage Network Message Board forum provides the latest updates on relief efforts and connects those in need with those who want to help."

Believe me boys and girls, this is just what Bruce Bouton says it is. It is only to help those that need it.
Many of the people that "have", are helping those flood victims that don't have.
If you are one of those that love steel guitar and always have, here is your chance to help those in need.

How about record companies and songwriters, instrument makers and amp companies?

Bobbe, I believe Murnel may be inquiring if any of the entities he mentioned, are contributing to the cause as in cash donations or deeply discounted goods. Just my take....

Gary Lee, yes I know, I just love to pick on my great friend Murnel.
I'm also very worried about all the guys on the south coast. The horrific oil spill is a tragidy beyond comprehention.
A lot of disasters going on and hurricane, fire and tornado season hasn't even started yet.
