Hi Everyone
I am new to the Steel Guitar, I started playing in December of last Year. I have a BMI D10 and I am doing pretty good on the E9 neck. I would also like to learn the c6th neck. This guitar was in rough shape when I bought it. I have the E9 working and looking good but now I want to get the c6th setup. The steel is setup with 7 pedals and three knee levers I would like to get it set back up to a normal configuration so I can find some instruction on the c6th tuning. I play old classic country Hank Williams and stuff like that My question is there are so many tunings for the c6th neck which one should I use for the music I am trying to play. |

Pedals 5,6, and 7 are the same on most everyone's copedent. Here's a pretty standard setup, http://www.steelguitar.net/ , click "tuning" on the left.
Since you have seven pedals, you might consider putting the pedal 8 changes on pedal 4. Then pull string 4 up a whole step with RKR and have it land on a Bb with the "feel stop"(from 2nd string lower on E9). This would give you most of what pedal 4 on the chart does, as well as the common RKR pull. |
