On my dobro the nut and bridge slots are filed so that the tops of all the strings are in alignment. This reduces the amount of bar pressure required to eliminate buzzing on chords.
Is there any way to achieve this on a Stringmaster? |

That sounds typical of a String Master. The nut and bridge are heat treated from what I found on the one I had. Too hard to alter with a file, I found. |

When I had my Stringmasters I used to take a thin .009, .010 or .011 plain string and make a small, round ring just a little smaller in diameter than the nut and snap it into the string groove. The little ring acts like a shim to raise the strings which are rattling due to being to low. I never noticed any change in sustain or tone and it sure made it easier to play. You can get all the strings fairly level by using different gauge rings. |

Put a few drops of Crazy Glue in the slots, let it harden overnight and use nut files to cut the crazy glue to proper depth. I have done this a few times on several guitars. |
