I enjoyed it very much Bishop Ronnie. I also have to admit I was only aware of the Tokens' recording from the '60's and had no idea of the songs' history. Thanks for sharing. |

Hi Jerry,
After hearing this song soooo much, I thought I would take a shot at trying to record a version of it in my style. In the process, I research a wealth of information concerning it`s origin. I just tried to share a little bit of it`s history with the forum for any that were interested. By the way as simple as it`s composition is, it presented me with a real challenge to do it. I really did it, to expand my ability of trying to play something beyond my range of steel playing. In that, I thank you for your encouragement.(I know it is`nt one of my best, but it`s worth a shot! )

Hi Ron. That was a fantastic job you did on the song and I can remember hearing the song back in the seventies and all of us loved it. It was a Top 10 hit during that time I believe. I'm like you Ron, I like to pick out different songs and try to record my arrangement of a lot of the great classic songs and it helps me to learn a lot of new chords that I can put to use in other songs as well. Keep up the great work my friend and God Bless. _________________ Marlen SD 10 3 and 5,Fender 5 String Banjo, Flinthill 5 string banjo,Johnson Resonator Guitar, Ibanez AFS75T Country/Jazz Guitar. |

Hi John, (McGlothlin)
Thank you my friend.Yes we are a lot alike in attempting new frontiers of music abilities. I believe that is because it begins with our heart. When a person goes through terrible challenges physically, he/she reflects in thought about life from a different perspective. For an example Ray Charles, could take his affliction, and express his sensitivity through music that he presented to the world. He was only one of thousands.
I am greatful to be able to do as well as I have been blessed to do. Especially when you can listen to the beautiful musical presentations given right here on this forum, from so many talented musicians. What an honor. God bless us, one and all!
Thanks again, and be blessed my dear friend!
