Does anyone know who plays steel for Stoney LaRue?
I bought his Red Dirt CD on itunes and thus didn't see any credits. The steel and dobro work are awesome! I love his tone and phrasing.

Stoney was on the show last night with us at Billy Bob's for Dierks' Miles & Music for kids and he's not carrying a steel player.

Hey there, Tim. Great meeting you at Billy Bob's, and had a blast hanging out afterwards That's correct, Stoney's not carrying a steel player. Currently, the band is:

Steve Littleton: Hammond B3/Lesley, Wurlitzer Electric Piano, Keys.
Jeremy Watkins: Fiddle, Electric Mandolin, Vocals
Jeremy Bryant: Drums
Jesse Fritz: Bass Guitar, Vocals
Kevin Webb: Lead Guitar

None of these Red Dirt guys carry steel on the road, ALTHOUGH, all of them seem to be recording with steel.
I exclude Jason Boland

Chris, check out Boland's new live album he Just released. it's called "High in the Rockies" Roger Ray played his but off. Tons of good steel on it. You can get samples on iTunes.
