Hello Everyone!

Im seriously thinking about purchasing a carpsteel/rains lap steel and using it for for some sacred steel playing.

Who has one of these guitars? What do you think of the tone and craftsmanship?

Thanks! - TJ

Hi Tom,
Greetings from down here near Atlanta, Ga.I have been considering purchasing a moderatley priced pedal steel and have looked at the Carpsteel. I have played nonpedal steel for the last three years and before that, played six string guitar for 40 years.
I have not seen or heard anything but good about the Carpsteel( in spite of the name. What were they thinking?) I hope to be able to buy one soon. I am semi retired, on Social Security and my business has been in the tank since Obama took office.
When things get better, I plan to order one. I think it is well worth the investment.

I don't see any volume or tone knobs. What is that about? (maybe I have CSS)

They look well made, though the pedal steel roller nut is not needed.

Probably because they seem to be predominantly a pedal steel builder.
