Demps - For small clubs I mike a Special 112. I put in a new reverb tank and installed a Texas Heat speaker. I use the high gain input, first channel on bright, run the bass at 3 the mid 0 and the treble at 5 or 6, presence 0, reverb under 5. I have sold both of my NV112's like this better! (But it's no Twin Reverb) LOL

Mine is a Special 112 160 WRMS. Similar to the 130 but more power. Smile I have one in NJ that I have used unmiked with a pretty loud band- it has the Scorpion speaker but my latest one came with a bad speaker so I bought a new Eminence Texas Heat. Sounds real good and you can overdrive it if you want to.

I have a special 130. Great little amp, like a NV112 on steroids. Mine has Fox installed tantalum caps. Here is what I use with my single coil P/U guitars:

Clean channel (of course)

Input: Low
Bass: 6-7
Mid: 1-2
Shift: 6-7
High: 3-4
Pres: 3

I do not like the stock speaker for steel. It's a bit of overkill, but a 1203-4 is a killer speaker. (You may want to dial down the highs with that one). A blue marvel is a little light for the power.
Some of the neo's sound good. I'd get something full range, shallow basket, and rated at at least 200W, but get what you like.
