I have unreleased tapes of all the steel players from the album, 'It's The First Time,' sitting in the studio in the round taking their turns on Faded Love. I know that the song was played so much that I guess the steel pickers got tired of hearing it.'
I also have the same kind of tapes with Julian Tharpe playing 'Danny Boy.'
Would these tapes be something that some of you steelers would like to hear? It's not easy to produce these things because there is barely enough money, if you are lucky, to pay the setup and pressing costs.
I could care less about making any money. I just want to get those tapes from the seventies out there for you all to hear before my maker calls me home. All Hall Of Famers on the pedal steel with some great picking. Emmons, Day, Speedy, Julian, Jernigan, Green, Chalker, Reece and Hal Rugg along with Jimmy Bryant.
