Things being as equal as possible, is there any significant difference between Peavey Nashville, Session, Vegas 400, etc. amps? Thanks.

Too many steels, amps & other stuff, and an open mind. I have tube amp bias.

Quite a bit of difference in the EQ system between the Session 400 models and the others. All the other Peavey steel amps, including the Nashville 1000 and 112 use the "paramid" EQ system. The Session 400 models use a different active shelving EQ system.

I like the sound of my Session 400 and LTD 400 better.
There is not a big difference between a Nashville and a Session, but there is a noticeable difference.
Of course some people prefer Nash, over Session.

With all of the various amps out there today, I feel strongly that my stereo hook-up of my Session-400 (15 inch) and my LA-400 (12 inch) going thro' my Peavy ProFex II......... delivers one of the finest sounds I've ever heard.

The blend of the two different sized speakers give me a sound package that, IMHO, is hard to beat. You can hear it and see what you think, by visiting the jerrybyrd-fanclub.com/ site and then going to Ray's CD's page.

I thought the question was the difference between the amps, not "what I like best"....

IMHO .... Rolling Eyes I can relate to Mr.Montees explanation of "difference" between a 12" &/or 15" speaker far better than I can with different EQ styles .And yes, I've played through both kinds . Confused

To me the difference is that a Session has less of the 4th string whine and less mid honk.
This is my observation, and many people prefer the Nashville 400.
I sold the Nash when I got the Sessions and yes two amps or two different speakers seem to balance out the sound,
The two sessions have a JBL in one and a Black Widow 1501-4 in the other.
The better sound blend for me was with a Fender Vibrosonic and a Session 400.
OK for a house gig,
I have never tried a 15 and a 12 together, but 2-12s have worked ok for me.

Here's the link to Brad Sarno's session 400 page. It's mostly about upgrades but he says a little about why these amps sound so good and how they are different from todays SS amps.

Ken, you must be one of the loudest players out there! A vibrosonic and Session will only cut it for house gigs?!! I hear ya on the SS/tube blend though. That's the sound I like too.

I mean it is OK for a house gig because of lugging it around. Shocked
2 amps sound good to the player, as they seem to cancel out crappy tones...
not sure on the impact to the audience.

The Vegas 400 is a two channel amp which I prefer because I play a telecaster through one channel and steel through the other.

Is the Nash just a one channel amp?
