Hello, I just recently purchased my first Carter Starter pedal steel (used). A friend of mine asked me to learn the slide guitar part for this song, and I realize when I listen to it, it's a pedal steel, played by Ben Keith. It seems simple enough I could learn on the pedal steel, and I would like to surprise this friend by playing it on the pedal steel (he doesn't know I have one yet!). Does anyone have this tabbed out or know where I could find it? Being a beginner at the pedal steel, I'm not sure I could do a good job trying to figure it out by ear? Thanks all in advance,

Shady Bob

Its basically all on strings 345

For the Old Man part you use string 4 and start at fret 5 up to 10. That is half the song right there.

The next part and probably the toughest is the middle where you will use strings 345 on frets 8 and 10.

it goes something like fret 10 open, then fret 8 open then mash ab pedals:

Here is some pseudo tab

using strings 345

[on string 4] 5----10 (repeat 3x)

Next part

10....8--8ab....8ab--8....

8ab--8---8ab--8---8ab--8...[hit string 4, fret 8].....3--3a(on fret Cool

It just kind of bounces back and forth on frets 8 and 10.

Hope this helps - you should be able to figure out enough to get you through the song from that.

Srry, don't have time to tab it all out right now.
