I'm in Oklahoma this week at my parents home and got invited to a country & gospel music jam at an old First Baptist Church building in Spanish Fort, TX last night. Man, what a blast! I met Paul King, a great picker, and super nice guy! He has a beautiful, black Emmons that sounds like heaven. That was some fun! |

Alan, You are such a super nice guy. The pleasure was mine to meet you and jam with you. I really enjoyed your singing and picking. Having no drummer makes it tough for me but I had a good time. I wish that we could jam more but coming from Nashville is just too far for you to jam for three or four hours. I envy you and the location in which you live. You are around some of the best pickers in the world. I want to say that this forum here in such a valueable asset to all steel players. We have read each others comments and probably commented on the same topic. I look forward to meeting your cousin Mark and jamming with him. If he is anything like you I will be in for a treat. Thanks for the kind words even though I do not consider myself a great picker. I look forward to seeing you again. |

Likewise, Paul. You are too humble, sir. I enjoyed hearing you play, and although the band was not complete with a drummer, I had a great time. Looking forward to seeing you again. If you ever get out to Nashville, give me a shout. You can sit in with my band anytime, pal. |
