Bob... Congratulations on owing the greatest steel ever made (IMHO). Anyway I use Bob's E7 strings on the near neck and C6 on the far. Seem to work really well for me. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Bob being an old guitar player and loving rock and blues the fretboard is more familiar for me. In these two tunings there is a lot of music to be played but the great thing bout these instruments is that there is over 100 other tunings to play with. ENJOY!

Bob, I really like the sound of my Dual Pro. for Hawaiian music (I have a triple 26" scale Stringmaster I use for Country and Western Swing).

On the Dual Pro. I have C-6th on the outside bank of strings and B-11th on the inside.
It's easy to move just a few lower strings on the B-11th to change to the A-6th tuning.

I had my Dual Pro. refinished (blonde).

Since there is no cut away along the fretboard for playing clearance, I have a thin clear Mylar pick-guard
on each neck about 10 inches long to prevent scratches from the metal finger picks.

I got this thin Mylar (already backed with clear adhesive) at Guitar Center __ cut it with scissors.
It's barely noticeable.

I have Stringmaster leg sockets on it for a wider stance, since it has only three legs.
I always play standing.

Good luck with yours __ you'll love it.

I'm using the new SIT Pure Nickel sets on my D-8 Fender Stringmaster now. The high E13 is great for those Don Helms and Little Roy Wiggins parts. I retune the back neck for A6 or C6 depending on the song.
