This is a black double neck 8 and 4 with an Emmons set-up.
I got this in 99 to learn on and have since refinished a 76 model that I play more regularly. Case is solid. There is a small laminate pop between the necks that is shown on one of the pictures. This guitar has been played. Bar dings on the necks and the undercarrage is dusty. It needs a set-up. It's been under the bed too long. Asking $2850 plus shipping. More pictures are available if you need them.
Contact me at RonnieTibbitts@kw.com with questions.
Also available is the original round corner case with yellow lining. Add another $100 plus shipping. I will not sell the case without the guitar.

Sweeeet!
If I sold my '66 I would buy this. The early cut-tails are very nice instruments.
Good deal. |

I've seen that done before to get more viberation out of a string. Nice guitar too and a great price. _________________ Henry Matthews

Thanks to everyone for all the emails. A special thanks to Mr. Doug Jones who at one time owned this guitar and sent me a history of it all the way back to the original owner in Eugene, Oregon. Seems this guitar had a very interesting life.
Still available.

Mr. Doug Jones was kind enough to supply some information on this guitar after I posted it here. Here is a portion of what he supplied:
A guy in Eugene Oregon bought it new from Emmons as an 8x2. He sent it back to have 2 more knees added. When he got it back the Emmons decal was replaced with the Emmons plate.
The steel sat in a closet for almost 15 years before I bought it from his widow for $850! I added 3 more knee levers. I sold it to Robin Suskind in Portland Oregon who later sold it to a Ken Rutherford in John Day Oregon. I believe Robin took off some knees before selling it to Ken. Ken later sold it to Bobbe Seymore in the 1990's. From there I lost track.
The plate on the front right covers 2 small screw holes from the original owner's name plate he had on it. I believe if you look closely at the E9 tuning gears, you will find somewhere between strings 2+4 a small hole. This steel was used as a demo at the Intl' Steel Guitar convention in St.Louis for the Bela Gearless tuning system from the 1990s. That hole was part of what attached the Bela.
I purchased the guitar from Seymore in 1999. The plate says " Emmons 1968 #1260D". Here's a picture of the plate;
Thanks again for all the emails. It is still available.

Thought this was sold, but the deal fell through. I sent it to Tommy Dodd who did some cleaning up and tweaking on the set-up for me. He says it's a nice guitar, I think it is too. It sells with a hard shell case, Tommy has the light weight case on the Forum for sale if you want it. Still asking $2850 plus shipping. RonnieTibbitts@kw.com |

I bought this guitar from Robin and sold it to Ken, I wanted the old PP's to stay active in the NW. What goes around comes around and it is good to see it is still in the local area.

PS: RT tell Benny hi for me, we did some gig back in the old days. Now there was a singer. |
