I was impressed with it originally when I found it, it's nice to see it again. I had forgotten where it was.
I think it was posted first in August 22, 2008 by "krssteel" positively a fan of the Dutch Indonesian Players.

I am not sure that it is George de Fretes you see on the video. It does not sound like him and the player looks like his brother Peter de Fretes. |

While it was an interesting video, I was hoping to see RUDI going wild on the steel which was his fantastic style. The year he was to attend Winchester Convention and had everyone in anticipation, was the year he suddenly passed away. I sure loved his style, technic
and enthusiasm. While he endeavored to play "hawaiian" (small 'h') he never quite succeeded. As with many on the continent, Rudi used too much reverb. But man-o-man, I wish I had the technic in all my fingers he possessed in his one finger! Great musician who left us far too soon. |
