Hey Dan, I'm having a problem with my BMI S-12 which I've never had before. On my pedal one, I pull the 7th string F# to G#. What's happening is that when I use that pedal it doesn't return to the F# note. If I stick my toe under the pedal and push it up it'll return. Any idea what might be causing that. I did have the guitar apart and all the pedals disassembled. I don't know if I've got the rod in the right hole or not either.......JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

Jerry,
Check 2 things.
1. On the string that is not returning, check the helper spring underneath by the changer. If it doesn't push the changer back against the stop then you need to cut a loop out of it and reconnect it. Usually the helper springs will weaken over time.
2. On the crossbar make sure the helper spring is attached to the crossbar and to the body of the guitar underneath.
Try that and let me know,

I had the same trouble recently with my BMI S12 and it was the spring on the crossbar. After time they can break, easy to fix.
