Had the same problem. Swapped it for a BL710. Sounded great.

Have it rewound.. Jason Lollar is the top.. however, I would suggest talking to Owen Duffy. He doesn't make steel pickups, but he will rewind them. The peeps at truetone might rewind for cheaper...

YMMV..

I have a brand new Truetone w/coiltap, a used Truetone, and a brand new, in-the-box Alumitone in black available. Email me if interested.

David... Jerry Wallace is the owner of True Tone Pickups.. He'll rewind that Bud pickup to original spec, and it will sound just like the original, if not better.. Best rewinding bargain anywhere in the US at $40. Anyone else will probably cost double that, and they certainly won't wind a better steel guitar pickup.

Also,I am sure anyone in the UK that rewinds ordinary electric guitar pickups would rewind your Bud pickup as well.
Might save you some time and shipping looking into that as well... Just Google Pickup rewinding UK.. There are several rewinders in the UK, I checked...bob

Thanks everyone, I have one coming from the USA now.
I wanted to keep the Sho-bud original, so I have a re-wound one coming from James Morehead.
