Early 60's Silvertone/Danelectro electric guitar, with amplifier in case.. Very good original shape and everything works. Its in very good condition, but is 45 years old.. Its not mint,,
Just very good +..
Frets and neck in great shape. Few dings here and there.. NOT mint...
Guitar plays very well and sounds terrific.. No issues other than one non original knob on the guitar. This is the model 1457, which is a bit more "upscale".. The amp is more powerful, and has tremelo, the guitar is longer scale, and has two pickups and a red sparkle finish.. The other amp in case model Masonite body guitar made by Dano is 1448 , and is more common and far less desirable to players and collectors. It is a one pickup, black shortscale version.
This is the one you want!Price is firm... $550
Case is very heavy so it will probably be $50 to ship west coast, somewhat cheaper east of the river... I checked ebay, and priced it considerably lower than what they have been selling for.

Gary, normally I love trades, but right now I am selling a lot of stuff to fund a new pedal steel, and need cash as opposed to gear.
If you would like , I would be happy to hold the guitar for you until you sell off some gear to fund it..
I am in no big rush to sell it.
Same offer applies to other forumites..
I only ask you act with integrity.. If I am asked to hold it, and take it off the market, be kind enough to follow through with the deal, and not back out and say, "I couldn't come up with the money".

I know what its like having multiple thousands of dollars in gear sitting around piled up in every room, and needing a few hundred for a cool piece, and not having it because all your bread is tied up in musical crap piled floor to ceiling.
Thats where I am at as we speak!! Smile .

Bob,
this looks too cool! What type of wood is the body? Is the neck true and straight? Is the amp tube or SS? I am tempted.....this would go nicely with the Harmony BobKat I got from you, which has become my fave electric six string.

Thanks,
Cliff

Neck is perfect,, the guitar plays great, and stays in tune.. The sound is absolutely wonderful.

These are semi hollow guitars made of Masonite over a pine or poplar frame.. The amp is all tube.. Its only 8 watts, and not loud enough for anything but practice, but the sound is ALL vintage tubey goodness..
There is a ton of info about these Danelectro guitars on the net.. These amp in case combos were $1,000 and up about 2 years ago, but have dropped back considerably during the downturn... bob

I have six of these guitars. Three with amps in the case. This guitar is one of the great american classics. The tone is large and clear. ANd they look great. This is a great price and condition. Well worth this amount or more. Somebody should jump on this!
