After Paulette left we seen them at a local fair. That was when The Blame was big. They had a Steeler with long blonde hair that played an Emmons.

I remember a couple names from that band. John Noreen and
Tommy Spurlock. I think the time period may indicate John....or I could be totally off base.
Brett will probably know. |

One steel player I know of that worked with Highway 101 was Gary Morse.

I thought J.D. Maness played on some of their early recordings.

Here are the credits from the Bing Bang Boom album where I first heard The Blame:
Quote: |
Personnel: Nikki Nelson (vocals, guitar); Curtis Stone (vocals, bass guitar); Cactus Moser (vocals, drums); Dennis Wilson , Harry Stinson (vocals); Dave Flint, Paul Worley (acoustic guitar); Tommy Spurlock, Buddy Emmons (steel guitar); Bill Hullett (mandolin); Connie Ellison (strings); John Hobbs (piano). Audio Mixer: Ed Seay. Recording information: Javelina West; The MOney Pit; The Sound Shop. Photographer: Mark Tucker . Bing Bang Boom is the first album Highway 101 recorded with vocalist Nikki Nelson. Although Nelson has an attractive, she couldn't fill Carlson's shoes. Furthermore, the band had trouble coming up with a consistently compelling material, apart from the hit title track, making Bing Bang Boom one of the weakest entries in the group's catalog. ~ Thom Owens |

I know Gary Morse was playing with them for a while. He was playing at the Opryland Hotel on the side on some weeknights and I had a chance to meet him. Later saw him on tv with them some. _________________ Emmons LeGrande II D-10, Emmons LeGrande III D-10, Emmons LeGrande III S10, Boss Katana 100, Boss Katana 50, Nashville 112

Paulette was awesome!
I knew Nikki and her dad in Carson City...late 80's...she was a nice kid...her Dad's a good bass player.
He used to make "Authentic" indian jewelry to be sold on reservations...Good guy! ![Winking](images/smiles/icon_winking.gif) _________________ DESERT ROSE D-10 8/5...Joe Naylor "SteelSeat"...

I think Tommy Spurlock always wore a beret, plus I think he did some of the album cuts too.
Jack, did you ever jam with Niki and Goldrush down at the Topaz lounge or at that club south of Carson?? I did a few times as I was starting to play
