This is a one of a kind original portrait of my good friend the late Speedy West. He was inducted into the International Steel Guitar Hall of Fame 1981. I live 10 miles from the farm where Speedy grew up as a boy.

This is one of a kind and an original portrait painted in acrylics by me in 2003. It is 24 by 30 inches painted in the American Impressionistic style. It was painted from a photo taken of him while he was playing at the 11th International Steel Guitar convention St. Louis, MO.

I have decided to part with the painting because I have ran out of room in my studio. I also have several other paintings for sale of horses, western scenes and landscapes.

If interested call me at417-468-2102 or you may also e-mail me.

Thanks!

Hi John,

Yes, I painted the picture during 2003.

It is 24 by 30 inches painted with Acrylics.

The painting has been painted in what is referred to as Impressionistic style. It is not photographic realism art, although I can do that style too.

I painted it in several hours in an expressive, spontaneous combustion style, because that is how he played steel. He just let it rip and the notes and licks fly from his steel. He literally would at time spank and beat his steels with a towel or whatever!

He was a Master Showman! I miss him alot! He was one of a kind!

Thanks!
