I'll be talking to Chuck again soon about his Desert Rose guitars. Hoping to get some positive feed back on his steels from forum members. Anybody? Thanks in advance, Dennis |

I went to his shop when he was in Kingman and played 2 of his guitars. Nice pedal action and both guitars came alive in frets 15 thru 17. Nice finish too. They should be listed as a consumers digest best buy. |

I have heard many good things said from owners of Desert Rose Steels....b0b, Stu Shulman, Dan Tyack and others...they may want to speak for themselves.
I have a D-10 that I love!! I have friends with Emmons...Mullen.... etc. that I have sat down and played...I think the Desert Rose stands up favorably to any of them.

My new Desert Rose guitar is the finest steel guitar I've ever owned,Light weight,It's got my favorite mid range frequencies,The high end has that Emmonsy bell tone thing,it's a very even guitar across the board and up and down the neck.stays in tune...recording with it is wonderful it's one of those guitars that never steals frequencies from over instruments,it sits well in the mix.For what I look for in a pedal steel guitar this is the Beez Knees.I'm awaiting my third Desert Rose.

I have been scheming to buy a Desert Rose for a while now. I'd like to have something modern in addition to my old ZB. Seems like the DR would be perfect, but there is not a lot of info out there. Glad to see this thread, and I hope to learn more about the tone and construction of these guitars. Can those of you who have D10s comment on the C6 neck? |

Very fine instrument in all respects. I only sold mine to go to a D-10. I would not hesitate to buy another one if the situation should arise.
Also, you will not find a better gentleman to deal with than Chuck. _________________ 2013 Brook Torridge, 2014 Martin 000-18, two homebrew Teles, Evans RE200 amp, Quilter 101R head, understanding wife of 45 years. 'Steeless' at the moment but looking...... |

The Desert Rose is a well built nice sounding steel. Chuck Back, the builder, is also a fine Steel player who sings and picks Tele up there with the best. Chuck did some long hours doing back-up at the TSGA, always with a smile on his face. |
