My set up and gear
GFI steel w/E66pup,Hilton VP,DD2Delay, BBE sonic Maximizer.
Steel to input of BBE SM,
BBE output to in of Hilton
out of Hilton to lo input of 112
Out of pre amp send to in put of DD2
DD2 send to return preamp
Amp settings..
Pre 3.5
low +9.5
mid -10
shift 800
pres.+3
high -3
rev- 4 (or your pref)
BBE lo conture 9----process 9
DD2 E level 11:00 oclock
feed back 7:00 oclock(min)

This gives me a clear bell like tone, good string separation with an almost accoustic quality.

Interesting setup you have there. I assume you tried different ways of connecting the guitar, VP, BBE, and DD-2 to the amp? How do these other ways compare to the way you're connecting everything now? |

Eddie, what exactly does a BBE sonic maximizer do? I noticed several steel players use them but I haven't heard one. Thanks. |

I am using the $99.00 stomp box version on Musicians Friend. It is mono, one in,one out.
It gives a fuller, deeper sound. It is very noticable when it is on. It is used in studios to give depth and clairity, without increasing volume,or so i've been told. I know it does this with my rigs, guitar or Steel.
I think BBE is the name brand, and they have a stereo version for those who use two amps. |
