Richard Comeaux, Joe Rogers and I would like to thank everyone for their support and hospitality during our stay at the Dallas Show.
Special thanks to Bobby Bowman, Charles Tilley, Louie Hallford and the Talley's for inviting us to perform.
Special, special thanks to Gary Rittenberry for making all three of us a very fine Pedal Steel Guitar! We love ya, Gary !
I was absolutely elated for the crowd gracing us with a standing ovation on Thursday night. Wow!, what an awesome feeling! I have a feeling we'll be back next year !
Thanks again,

One of the eye-opening experiences for me on this Jamboree was watching the way Joe, Richard, and Murnel play with each other, either triple steels, or accordion, guitar, and steel. Each has their own style, at the same time both unique and complementary to each other. And what chops!!
Murnel, you guys totally knocked me out... but you knew that already. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

So proud of these young and very professional players. Delighted to see them in Dallas and being recognized for their great talents. A big, new and bright light was lit in our steel guitar world this past weekend. This "...Connection" will make all steel guitar players and fans take note for a long time to come. Happy for them. They really work hard on their arrangements and it is noted immediately. And those new steels sounded the best.
Side note: They will be on the Deep South Steel show here in Gulfport, Ms. on June 11, 12. See other threads for information.

It was my plan to be at the TSGA Show this year, as I knew my friend and brother Murnel Babineaux, would knock the ball out of the park with his playing on that pretty "green" Rittenberry.....
If I had to miss the show, which I did, I am at least glad from what I've read that it was a great show for those who were able to attend! |

Murnel,
No thanks are needed my friend, the pleasure was all ours. OUR thanks go out to you, Richard and Joe for making this show so memorable. Your preamp gear and pedal are on the way to you.
And, tell Joe I am still recovering from him playing my '69 Emmons PP, the tone was still dripping off the walls of our room when I left the hotel - we both understand the meaning of the word "Blade" now for sure!! (But don't tell him what a monster player he is, I like him the way he is.)
All the very best - can't wait till next year!

Dave,
You are much too kind. It is really difficult to sound bad when playing the wonderful gear you guys produce. And yes, that guitar of yours is something else. Smoothest mechanism I have ever experienced on a p/p.
Thanks so much for letting us "woodshed" in your room. It was an absolutely terrific experience!! And it was great to put a face with the voice and emails.

Paddy. It was very nice to finally meet you in person! Maybe, we'll meet again next year!
This time, I'll have a few with you so we can keep that nasty bug from getting us !
John. Thanks for the support. Hope to see you there next year!
Dave. What a great guy! Knowing people like you has always been a very positive thing. I can't wait to start hammering away on my Telonics gear! It sounds great!
Joe. Puhhh
Donna. Thanks for you and your husband Tommy's support. I hope that we can meet again. Thanks for taking photos in the Telonics room, as well !
Jason. Enjoy the strings. It was certainly a pleasure for me to give them to you. Like I said at the show. GHS Strings has been a big supporter of my steel playing for the past 11 years, and steel guitar in general.
Milton. I enjoyed meeting and cutting up with you!! HAHA. We will definitely have to do it again !!
Tony. htpmusic has a few videos on youtube that you can watch. I'm currently working on a CD right now. I did some tracks in the fall and in need to finish it, soon. _________________ Rittenberry D10 E9/C6 Session 400 |
