Is the song writer and singer that was on Larry's Country Diner on RFTV the same Sonny Curtis that was George Jones' steel man back in the 70's? He is about the right age.

No, assuming you are talking about the singer/songwriter from Texas who was associated with Buddy Holly. He wrote I Fought The Law, Walk Right Back, the theme from The Mary Tyler Moore TV show, among others.

As is stated above NO it was not the Steel Player of the same name on the Larry's Country Diner Show.

Thanks for the info on the other Sonny Curtis. I saw The steeler Sonny at Springfield Illinois when he was with George and Tammy in about 1970 I believe he was playing a ZB at the time as was I.
