I have an Lexicon LXP5 multi-effect box. I know the MRC is Lexicon's controller for it, but is there another brand controller that is similar...one with a display?
I am "midi-challenged"...never took the time to get into it...so, what I'm thinking is to use a controller for live on-the-fly control of various presets. I gather that parameters can be assigned to the controller's knobs, sliders and buttons, and this could be real useful on a gig.
In my attempt to research this, I noticed the BEHRINGER BCN44 B-Control Nano Midi Controller. Would this unit work to program the LXP5? Is there a better choice? Inexpensive is important.
I know the LXP5 can be programmed with it's own front panel controls, but it's very awkward, and a controller looks to be a lot easier. And the MRC is hard to find at a reasonable price.
I'd appreciate any advice from the midi-knowledgeable out there? _________________ Best regards,

An AkAI LPD8 might work. It's got 8 pads and 8 knobs and the knobs can send MIDI CC#. The LXP-5 should be able to respond to the MIDI CC# for parameter control , but you might need to do a little reading in the manual to determine this.
There are probably other small, keyboard controllers that can do the same thing. Looks like the AKAI's are going for $69 on the bay. |
