(Listed on the theory that steel players like lots of strings !!))S/N 1 of fewer than 10 made - this is from a set of 3 guitars (6, 12, & 18 st) made for the late fiddler Gordon Terry by luthier Ralph Smith ca 1971 - my friend traded Mr. Terry a fiddle for this in the 80's - this has "Pat.Pending" on truss rod cover, referring to pending patent on cutaway neck joint - patent was granted and Mr. Smith later sued Washburn for infringement - and won !! In great shape and plays as easily as a good 12 string == Asking $2339 and taking offers (this is listed on ebay, also)

Wow--I sure wouldn't want to have to tune that!
I'm guessing the nut and neck are pretty wide? |

Wow! interesting looking piece you have there. Looks like a cross between a guitar and a dulcimer.
A Gui-dulcimer!
I bet it sounds nice. |

Amazingly, the neck is only 1 7/8" at nut and 2 1/2" where neck meets body !! It really does play like a 12 string ! |

There is usually a wanted ad for Smith guitars in the classified section of Vintage Guitar magazine. I spoke with the guy once and he seemed OK. My Smith was a horrid green color. |
