Hey Brian,
I'm not aware of too much. On the 18th, there's a pretty cool jazz band that features PSG:

Unfortunately it's about 45 min away in Nederland....
Other than that, Dick Meis' band may be up your alley if they are playing...
There's a cool guitar store called the picking parlour:

Grizzly rose is the biggest coutry bar, but I'm not an expert on that establishment...
You may check out the gothic theater see if anything interests you.. It's a pretty sweet venue.
I haven't exhaustively scanned the scene, but feel free to PM me for restaurant/bar recommendations.
