Hi Forumites,

For any of you that might have tried to email me during the last few weeks and received a bounce back, my hard drive bit the dust and I'm finally back online again. While I've managed to retrieve most of the names that were in my address book I'm still missing some and would appreciate any of you that I contact regularly to please drop me a line. Many thanks.

Hi Neil,

Glad you're back. I unfortunately, can relate, to PC problems.

I recently bought a new notebook PC...& was having errors galore.

Everyone thought it was a software problem (Windows XP). Turns out...after 3 NIGHTMARE weeks.......HP had me run a test...& it was BAD Ram.......the whole time!!!

Got the new Ram today...& put it in. BUT...they messed-up the order. They sent me (2) 256mb modules = 512mb total (correct)...but, 133 mhz (incorrect)...instead of 266 mhz. They said it's OK to use them...but, will send the correct Ram modules. Will be here on Monday.

So...I've been unable to use my NEW notebook, w/o a million error messages...until now. So...that explains my abscence......for quite a long time now. This is the FIRST time, I've been able to get on the web, since I bought this PC. This is a VERY expensive notebook PC, to add insult to injury.

So...it's GREAT to be back, w/a usable PC. Let's hope it keeps running OK!!

Peace.

My hassles mainly came via a loose wire on the external connection to my house.
How dumb is that.. it took two weeks to get it working for internet access, although the phone mostly worked before that.

Good to see you online as well Neil.
