Without the serial # can't say for sure. But most,(The 1st edition LeGrandes)which you have were built between 81 and late 85 unless it was a custom order. The early LeGrandes had black Legrande style pedals. The very 1st ones, Maybe the first 10 or so, had PP pedals. (You could custom order the PP style pedals in the later years) But I'm guessing you have one of the later ones. Since I'm just guessing.I'm going to guess 1985. If I could zoom the undercarriage I could give a better guess.

Not to hijack the thread. But does anyone have a 1st edition LeGrande, not a Lashley Legrande, with a serial # higher than 350?

The pickup is the one most everybody pulled out of there MCI's. It looks like a short keyhead and I think something looks different about the bridge.

Bryan...As Bob H mentioned, IMO you would do well to replace the pickup (original single coils sound best in these guitars, again IMO) if you plan to keep the guitar, I believe you will find a noticeable improvement in tone. You may also notice the opening in the endplate for the C6 changer, until recently Emmons used the same endplates for both D-10 and SD-10 guitars.

Congrats bryan!
It's the highly regarded early 80's Legrande Short Keyhead (SKH) model. As for the value, check the "for sale" section of this forum.
I haven't seen many SD-10 SKH's and i don't know if they are numbered the same as the doublenecks, but for what it's worth, I have a D10 ser# 0081L made in 1983.
A very very fine guitar!!! Cool
As Bob points out, many of the SKH's had a little different bridge design, but not all of them did as far as i know. The changer on mine looks just like yours.

Jack Strayhorn (forum member)was with Emmons around those times, I believe, and could possibly shed some light. Billy Knowles (forum member) is also a very good source for Emmons info, especially if you ever need excellent servicing of the instrument.

Serial number would be helpful to date your guitar.
Looks like an early LeGrande, first style changer, maybe as early as 1980. Seems to me the first LeGrande's were made in 1979, but others would know for sure. Value would depend on a lot of things, but my guess would be $2200...Jerry

It's on the inside-underside of the keyhead endplate.

I don't know but my guess is that Bobby Boggs guess is a good one.
So is probably the guitar too, so never mind what it's worth. Stick with it and it will begin to like you very much.
