Thanks Kevin. We had a blast working that one up. The plan is if we are ever on the Opry together (Marty and the Superlatives, Dailey and Vincent) that song will show up again. I got to watch the show tonight, and I thought it looked like we were having some fun. I think we got some mileage out of Karen's train whistle HA!!!

I usually tape the show and watch it later, but I was off last night too due the lovely weather we are having here. It was a GREAT show. The band REALLY hammered Pick Me Up On Your Way Down with Connie, as well as the other music being tops too. I loved that whistle as well.....my dad used to could do that, but I never learned how. Good luck folks and please keep it up...we NEED this stuff....AL

Thanks you all. We were supposed to be at the Opry too. We decided that rest was needed after wrapping up season 2 this past week. Fun but exhausting at the same time. I am still dragging HA!!!

Paul, I'm not sure there are enough 'Superlatives' to describe the harmony in that song. I'm not real religous but I enjoy many gospel songs expecially when there is good harmony and the harmony is close.

Boy, was the harmony close in that song.

Queston: How many shows do you guys cut at a time?

Paul, being a harmony arranger myself, that was one of the most superb examples of harmony arrangements I've seen or heard. This is REAL musical talent. The unisons combined with the harmony stack and the bass voice was brilliant. You have a great voice. Dailey and Vincent have crystal clear intonated bluegrass harmonies. Combined with Stinson, Stuart and yourself it was stunning. Soooooo far past this low talent CMT crap on the radio.

Huge Dailey and Vincent fan here. I'm excited their Statler Brothers tribute is on the Billboard top 20 albums list.

Thanks everybody. The Dailey and Vincent boys came by Marty's office a few days before we taped the show and we all ran through the arrangement. It came pretty easy. They sure are great singers (and players) and it just seemed to click. I really do hope we get to do the Opry with them soon, so we can sing it again. We are on this month the 13th, 19th, 26th and 27th, so it might just work out.

Thanks Joey,

For the YouTube link.

Yeah, they can sing all right. I especially 'dug' the last minute or so, where they 'bended', 'glissed', or 'pedal-steeled' the melody.

BRAVO!

I can't get this station.

Is it Internet-streamed?

This just gauls me.

Sure would be nice to, at least, have access to Marty Stewart's great TV show.

Mad

I'm glad that someone besides me recognized the brilliance of this gathering of country talent enough to put it on Youtube. Folks, email RFD about this, and support The Marty Stuart Show. Buck Owens is smiling.

The show is terrific and I agree on last Sat. show, especially the gospel song. For those that can't get RFD, I believe Marty is selling the entire last season on DVD. It's great to see a Steel Picker (Gary Carter) get kudos as well as the spotlight frequently.

Hey Danny- The DVD set is a "best of" season one. It has 4 hours of performances, plus some bloopers and photos. I had set my DVR to record all of season one, and discovered the other day it had dumped them all (or one of my kiddos hit delete HA!!). They might end up putting out the shows as they aired in the near future. I will do my best to keep you posted if they do.

I would purchase a DVD for just the purpose of obtaining the performance of this one song. It was that good! The rest of the DVD would be good gravy on a big biscut! Winking Very Happy

Chip, RFD T.V. is the cable channel that broadcasts The Marty Stuart Show. If you go to RFDtv.com you will see their web site. People can go there and email the stationj about their positive comments about The Marty Stuart Show. Sponsors WILL listen. This is a big shot in the arm for real country music plus we get to have Paul Martin (bass/vocals) here on our Forum. It doesn't get any better.
