I had a really fun day playing steel guitar on two big music shows today. The first show was from 1 to 5 this Sunday afternoon, and was a benefit show for the great guitar player J.J. Jones, who is extremely ill. J.J. could not make it because he is so ill. The Show raised a lot of needed money to help J.J. Many famous players and singers were on the show. Gene Dove who played and sang on the Branson Baldknobber's show for 30 years played bass in the band, and also sang. Then I drove to Springfield and at 6:00PM joined the great band at the American Legion. The great Dewayne Boman, from Joplin, was on guitar and singing. They have such a great band, with Gale Richie on keyboard and singing. It was wonderful to LOCK HORNS with Dewayne and the guys again. |

Lucky you...and good for you! It's always nice to hear of people helping other people. Pickers are usually very helpful of each other and your benefit appearance is proof positive. |

Ray,thanks for inviting me to play steel guitar on the special show you will be singing on. I love your singing. You are one of the best singers I have ever heard. Tell me how they handle the Legion Show, and how they let guys like me play? How long would I get to play? What kind of band is it? Also give the date, time, and location so others who read this might want to attend. |
