I've purchased yet again another old MSA and am looking for whatever history you may have on it in your records. The serial number is 2C7129. Thanks. |

Chuck.....Sorry for my oversight, I just this minute saw your post.
Serial number 2C7129 shows to be a double 10 emerald green which left the factory with 8 & 4. I would think Kenny should know, because he was the original owner.
Thanks Kenny for "pinch hitting" for me. |

Hi Reece! You're welcome. How are you? I think I had you add the 9th pedal, and the 5th knee lever after the initial order. ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

..ya know...it's so cool the way reece replies on this stuff...not to mention how well he must have kept records. good businessman as well as righteous dude and great player.....i still love 'rapid rag'..
too bad other companies weren't as organized serial number wise.
after owning other good brands i wouldn't be surprised if i had some msa in my future!
msa set the mechanical/functional bar way back in the 70's. |

Hi Kenny....I'm doing great, hope the same for you, and thank you for asking.
I will of course defer to you concerning the original number of pedals and knee levers. If you received the guitar originally with 9 & 5 please let me know and I will adjust my records accordingly.
I greatly appreciate the possibility that an MSA has been part of your playing enjoyment over the years.
Chris.....Thank you for your very kind words and comment about "Rapid Rag" Phil Baugh was a terrific player and dear friend. |

Thanks guys.
Reece, this was an old post from December and you did respond to me in an e-mail.
Kenny, your old steel is in good hands. Check out the pickups I installed this past weekend! I also decided that I like the RKL lower of strings 4&8 and will leave it as is.

Fantastic looking MSA Chuck. Has it been refinished, or has the color held up that well over the past 30 years?

Thanks Duncan. Yes, that is the original emerald green finish, and other than a few bar dings, it is still in excellent condition. Its easy to see why the Vintage XL is considered the top of the old MSA line; lacquer finished maple body and neck, grover tuners, and a triple raise and lower changer. The pickups I installed are vintage BL705s. |

That be the MSA I bought new from Reece back in 1981 The green laquer finish still looks great. How does the Bill Lawrence pickups sound? I installed a George L E-66 in the E9th neck. |

Hi Kenny....thank you for the update, I will change the MSA records for anyone in the future who inquires, although I believe it will be your guitar for a l o n g time. Its always great to see those who take such care and have pride in their MSA guitar.
I greatly appreciate your playing it.....btw, emerald green is my favorite color. |

Reese IS amazing - a helpful, intelligent, nice cat whose main goal seems to be furthering the PSG cause. On top of that, man, can he play! |
