Wow! RusLers have very ZB like tone, too. Great looking axe, Richard. Someone should snap this up RIGHT NOW!
I note a switch on the back apron, what's that for? _________________ E9 INSTRUCTION

What a unique and very cool steel.. Wow, a few years back, this would have been snapped up in a second. Rus-lers are VERY good steels!
Good luck with your sale. _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

I used to play and sell Rus-ler steels back in the 70s and I still own a D10 that I bought in 1976. I am pretty confident that the switch you see on the back apron is the pickup impedance selector. The guitars came stock with a triple tap pickup. In one position the impedance is about 9K (very thin and bright), the middle position is about 17.5K (fairly normal impedance for the time) and in the third position the impedance is very high, about 30K as I recall (very muddy: I rarely used that position).
I have never found a steel that had less cabinet drop, less hysteris, or more sustain. They were built very heavy and were intended to be a premier level steel. |

Can a left knee vertical be added to this guitar, lowering the B's?? I am used to using that lever. Larry B. Does it come with a case? _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 3 & 5 The Eagle

If anyone that buys this steel wants to add extra pedals I think Chuck Back of Desert Rose guitars still has some parts for it.
Russ sure did build nice steels. |

|
|
The Rus-ler comes with a nice hard-shell case that is in as good of condition as the guitar. Based on the excellent condition of this equipment, it seems certain it wasn't taken out on the road.
The copedant setup is Emmons.
I don't know for sure whether a vertical knee could be installed on it, but I see no reason why it couldn't. There is a guy in our area who works on steels and he recently installed two knees for me and I'd bet he'd be able to do it.
I placed this ad on behalf of a friend who doesn't have a computer. That's his phone number on the posting. Therefore, I do not have immediate access to the guitar, but I do plan on going to his place within the next few days. When I do go, I'll be sure to snap a pic of the bottom-works and get it out to you within the next few days. (Don't know why it didn't occur to me to do that the first time.) |

The Rus-ler will definitely take vertical knee levers. All you need is the hardware. (Rus-ler gear would probably be preferable, but I imagine other brand equipment could be made to work.) I had two verticals on my D-10 at one time and they worked just fine. |

I was asked to provide a pic of the bottom side of the Rus-ler. Here it is. Also, I thought some of you might be interested to see the figures on the pedals.

I've got a black S-11 RusLer with 5&4, that looks and plays as good as the day I got it in 1976.
These are great steels. Don't miss out on this steel, boys, it's a beauty. |
