a friend of mine has a bass amp that just quits working after a while he took it to a music place they have had it for a long time they told him the power transformer was bad they said when it gets hot the wiring is seperating inside does that sound right to some of you guys that does this kind of work the amp is a kustom i think thanks for any help

It could be a PT. I would rule out poor connections on the board first, they can fool you.
