Hello Everyone, I have recently lost my gig with the Son's of the Pioneers, therefore I am in the market for a newer better gig, LOL. I realize that this is the wrong time of the year to find a job, however if anyone hears of anything, please let me know. I am even looking for sub and fill in work. I have several resumes out but I have not had one response. Maybe it is time to move on back to Nashville, Who knows. Anyway, I play pedal and non pedal steel, dobro, guitar, fiddle, bass, mandolin, melobar, banjo, drums, keys, and harmonica, etc.... My Resume, although a little outdated, and my Bio is on my website at http://www.wpro1.com/utilitymanproductions
If you or someone you know is looking for a professional picker, please contact me.
Thank You,
Michael T. Hermsmeyer

Come on back to Nashville! Good to see you on here. How is the 73 Emmons doing? Glad that you are the proud owner of a fine guitar. Good luck Mike! Just wait for the doors to open, that is the hard part. Let us know where your at.

Hey Pat, Thanks for the invitation! LOL. It's all in the Lord's hands right now as to where He wants me. Many resumes have gone out and nothing has yet been heard. I am trying to get hold of a Performance Guide that lists all the personal managers and artists in Nashville. If you know where I can get one, let me know. The '73 P/P is doing just fine, she likes oil, but thats ok. She's sitting right here in my studio, making beautiful music. Thanks again, we have been very happy together. LOL. A lot better than a few other relationships in my life have been, LOL.
Take care, my friend, and please keep your ears open and let me know if you hear anything. Thanks,
Michael T. |

Hey guys, just wanted you to know that my replacement, who shall remain nameless for security reasons, LOL, told me that he was fired 3 weeks after I was. They also let go one of the co-stars of the morning show. The more I think about auditioning for another Branson show, the more I have to reach for the Pepto Bismol. What happened to making music to make music, and not help fill some rich guys pockets. Maybe I should just go back to unloading Wal-Mart trucks, as least I knew what to expect every day...Pallets and boxes...pallets and boxes... I'm gonna unload me some pallets and boxes, LOL
Hey Pat, I'm gonna be in Nashville this weekend. Just look for me at Steel Guitar Nashville checkin' out Brandy's new "hairdo", LOL

Mike,
Sorry the 'Sons' gig didn't pan out for ya, but rest assured you'll have a swell time with 'Gailee and the Guys' - I'da been on it, but will be finishing up this show in Massachusetts then on to Manhattan for this show running Dec. 'til Feb. - playing on a Console Grande. Glad to know you're on Gailee's gig - lemme know how goes it.
Best to ya Mike ~

Hey Michael...sorry, just got to checking this, was out of town all week. If you get this before weekend is over, I plan on being at the Midnite Jamboree to hear Johnny with Connie, rumor also has it that Johnny and Joan MAY be doing a duet on the show. Or if your not doing anything sunday, come on up to church with us...I am pretty sure Doug Jernigan will be there along with Johnny and Joan, we would love to have ya!

Hey Pat, sorry I missed you. We pulled out of Nashville for Jacksonville, Fl. around 11pm. I did get to go to the opry backstage, thanks to my wonderful former employer, Holly Dunn. I had a great time. I had actually never been to the Ryman before, it's tiny. I have seen high school auditoriums bigger. As a matter of fact, the new theatre at the new Branson High School, just about puts the Opry House to shame. Millions of dollars for a theatre and some of our kids can't even read when they graduate. Hmmm. Anyway, I am in Jacksonville until Dec 2nd, then back in Nashville for a day or so, then back to Branson for my final 2 shows of the year at 76 Music Hall.
Any Jacksonville pickers, come see Gail Bliss at the Alhambra Dinner Theatre. We will be having a great time with some great pickers, including top gun guitarist, Pat Bergeson. Gonna be a great time.
Thanks again Russ.

Well, Florida was great and I am looking forward to Myrtle Beach in January.
I found out a few days ago that the guy who fired me (and many others)from the Pioneers shows got fired himself this past week. I don't know all the details, but they did change the locks and seize his office. Apparently there is a lot of money missing and they are looking for it or where it went.
But remember, I was the one with the problem, LOL. It's good to know that I wasn't completely wrong in my "un-easy" feelings while I was there. I just feel sorry for all the innocent bystanders involved. Now nobody will get their year-round pay, and they will all be out of work. I'm not trying to stir things up, just reporting the facts. The Son's of the Pioneers themselves are great guys and were completely oblivious to all of the business office handlings.
Thanks for all your support while I seek employment. At this time I may start searching in other fields, including going back to school to finish my bachelors degree. That should help me get a pickin job LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about all the troubles, Mike. Is Eli Barsi with the outfit? I hear she moved down there to join the Sons. |

Howdy John, yes Eli Barsi was the star of the morning show. Cowboys, Heroes and Friends. Now that has all ended because of one person who seems to think he is more important than anyone else. Eli, her husband John and daughter Katie sold everything they had in Canada to move here based on the promises this guy gave them. Now she's out of a gig too. If I see her I will tell her you said hey. Better yet, you can contact her through her website at www.elibarsi.com
Thanks,
Michael T. |

I have some good news...
I have been asked to rejoin the cast of the "Cowboys Heroes and Friends" show, Starring Eli Barsi, here in Branson.
Did I mention that the guy who fired me got fired himself??? Yeah I thought so, LOL.
As for rejoining the Sons of the Pioneers, I have not yet heard what their plans are. They are still performing at the Triple C Ranch in Tuscon, AZ and will return here in Branson just prior to the April 21st opening. I would be glad to return to their show as well if they so desire.
I am also going to be joining the production of "Hank Williams Remembered" a tribute show featuring Larry Burton Crocker from Washington State. The show will be appearing at the historic Owens Theatre in Old Downtown Branson. I get to use my 1955 Fender Stringmaster to play those wonderful Don Helms licks. If everything goes good, I will start looking for a Gibson Console Grande.
I will still be performing with the Bacon Family on the "Sunday Gospel Jubilee" and "Ozark Mtn. Jubilee" at the former 76 Music Hall, now called Grand Country Music Hall. This is where Tom Brumley performed for the last several years.
Last but not least, I am also sharing the title of "co-producer" with my fiance' Tracy Lynn in her own show "From Patsy To Present" also at the Owen's Theatre. This is a tribute to many of the important figures in American Country Music history. I recorded much of the music used in this show.
So it seems that things are finally shaping up this year. Please come see our shows if you make it to Ozark Mountain Country. I'd sure love to meet you. If you want any info, please email me and I would be glad to forward it to you.
Thanks everyone and God Bless.

Mike, good to hear that matter got cleared up. Also glad to hear my buddy's John and Eli were able to stay down there. It's not easy for us Canadians to work in the States, especially after 9\11. Say hi to her for me if you would.
