This is especially for all you people that think Ole Rick never played anything except traditional country or bluegrass. This is not something that I'm really proud of, but I got good money for it and was offered the job full time. I turned it down because I don't want to be tied up the same place every Friday and Saturday night, and a lot of this is obviously not the music I want to play. This is proof that everyone's not looking for a great player. You can critique it if you want, but it won't do any good because that's about the best you'll ever get out of me on that type song. About everybody's too stingy to hire me as a country fiddle player, so I take one of these steel gigs ocassionally to get something different than bluegrass.
Sometimes someone calls for me to play steel and I'm already tied up and they say "do you know of anybody we could get that can play the show without rehearsing"? I say "No, because you know the same people I do and I know they've already turned you down, or you wouldn't be calling me".
So, if you want to tell someone how bad their picking is, without them getting their feelings hurt and pouting about it.....here's your chance. Won't upset me. There's a lot of good players that didn't get the job for whatever reason.

I've got some other stuff on youtube that is more my kind of thing, but if you don't like it either, that's still okay.

You guys are too kind. Now I won't take you seriously about anything. You have shown your true colors.
It's the chord progression of the song that really threw me a loop. I didn't have a chart. That stand in front of me was just a list of songs. Why not something simple like "Crazy" or "Statue Of A Fool".
This may be my public demonstration of "rocking out". I only put it on youtube in order to let my friends here see how screwed up a steel player I am on this stuff. It will come off in a few days.
Oh, about tab for this????? Not neccessary. It's a new technique I invented. It's call the "grab and hope technique". Really simple, you just grab some strings and hope it's a decent note. If it's not, you slide the bar to something that is, or try to mute it until the next one comes along, and repeat. Took me about ten years to prefect it, but it works everytime. No videos or courses needed. My gift to all my buddies.
