I'll be at the Boulder Station Hotel and Casino with the "Big Band Alumni" band at 7pm on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 16th & 17th. Come and join us for Big Band dancing and listening. I'll be featured on Steel for one big number and I slip it in the arrangements when I can, otherwise, I'm playing mostly Freddy Green style guitar with an occasional solo. Come up and say hello. The Band is great with alumni from Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, Billy May, Xavier Cugat, Spike Jones and so on. See you I hope. Al |

I got to meet and hear Al with a band he plays with over in Canoga Park, it was a fun time, the playing was great and it was like going through a time warp. |

Hello again Albert-- I finally got to hear your demo--turn-a-rounds awhile ago---great tone man!! By the way, yesterday I was communicating with a lady in Tacoma, Washington en re reading music. Last week I told you that I had written a manuscript about 2 years ago: Sight Reading for Steel Guitarists, based on C6. After relating this on the Forum to her yesterday, I have had a flood of eMails asking me to go ahead with publishing the text and CD's. If I can work it in to my schedule, I'll do so, but I plan to also make it available for other instruments as well. Talk to you later...Best, Hugh

I'm only about a week late.....been away from most of the Forum the past week. Would have loved to be in Vegas to hear you. When you gonna travel up this way for a gig? Be great to see you again. Did you know Sonny Richter from our days in Denver? |
