Knee Levers often have different functions, so if you use a term such LKR you need to specify what it does.

A note under the tab is way to do this.

The tab would look less cluttered if you use a single letter, and specify it's definition, Such as "D lowers strings 4 and 8 a half step".

It's not necessary to scan your printout. You can cut and paste it directly into the forum. You need to have the word TAB in brackets before and after it. The closing one also needs a slash.

Click EDIT on my post to see how it's done here:

Tab:

1.___________|___________________|__________________|____________________|
2.___________|___________________|__________________|____________________|
3._17b_______|_17b__17b_15b~_15b_|_15_~_10_~_10b____|_10b________________|

5._____17~17a|_17a__17a_15a~_15a_|_15_~_10_~_10a____|______10a___10a_10a~|
6.___________|___________________|__________________|_________10b________|
7.___________|___________________|__________________|____________________|

Hi Shane,
Here are my 2 cents.
- Please mention the tuning, I guess C6 in this case
- To write the lever name behind a move makes only sense if you mention the copedent used for the tab.
- Shorter and easier to read is IMHO an R for half tone raise, RR for full tone raise, L for half tone lower, etc. in case of the levers.

more like E9 to me

String 3 with a knee lever on E9? That would be very rare change. String 3 change is B pedal on E9.

You are absolutely right! Everything should start on string 4 .Thanks for pointing that out. It was late last night & I probably should have been in bed . I will try some corrections using every ones tips and see if it is less confusing.
Thanks for all you guys help.

Hey Joey

I tried your tip on copy & paste but it jumbled everything up.
For example it put some string #s in the middle of the string.
Can a file be to wide to paste in a message. I was also wondering how you put the dotted vertical lines on your tab .

Thanks for your help!
Shane

Shane,
The "vertical lines" |||||||| are the uppercase \ on my keyboard.

Read this:
http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/faq.php?mode=bbcode#5

Post your "Jumbled Tab" over in the Testing section, and send me an email to let me know when it's there. Call the post "Tab Help Needed".

I'll be happy to help, but won't be surprised if others beat me to it.
