We played in Hamlin Pa. last summer at a little firemans fair and it was put on youtube. I haven't put any videos on the forum before so I hope I'm not shooting myself in the foot. The lady singing is Lucy Simms. The band is the Twitty Fever Band from eastern PA. I guess the guy recording this thought Lucy was nicer to look at than the rest of us. Oh well, some guys are like that.

Nice, Ben. Your steel work sounded very good in spite of the so-so audio. I'd have liked to see you on your steel but I didn't mind looking at Lucy! Good singer.

(I share your interest in cars--those B bodies were great. I had a '64 Sport Fury, 426 street package, copper metallic with Anson mags--my favorite ride of all time. Loved blowin' the doors off 396 Chevs at Island and Englishtown!)

I've spent years listening to JERRY BYRD's back-up behind vocalists of every genre'. I can usually tell if a steel player is really, really good or just so-so, by what, why, when and where they play their back-up/fills.

Listening to your back-up in the posted song was indeed a pleasure.

What you did was most appropriate for the song, very tasteful and not once did you step on the vocalist.
A joy to listen to.

How about some more for us?

Ben, simply amazing!I agree with Ray, never once do you walk on the singer. Even so, you play some pretty intricate licks. This is top class.
A special mention to Lucy. Her voice is beautiful. She is a pro.

Thanks for the kind words. So far this is the only one available. We did a demo CD and I'll try to put something else on the forum sometime. When I figure out how. Thanks again.

Ben,

Thank you for sharing.....outstanding musicianship...really enjoyed hearing your talent.

Amazing, how different music is here in East NJ, as opposed to 70 miles away in West NJ.......BTW: Enjoyed Lucy Simms singing and the mobiles on her ears....Keep sharing.... Cool TX

Rgds,

Ron

Larry get back under the porch before somebody see's you. Thank Ron & Bill. Ron those things in Lucy's ears are just a distraction. She knows that most people don't like to look at her. (yea right) I think I have the best seat in the house. Or does she? I play in two bands and Lucy is in both. She's the only woman my wife let's me date. There's a joke in there somewhere. If you click on the link in this post there is another youtube video that comes up on the right side of the screen. Click on the Cramer Brothers Band and listen to my friend Jimmy Heffernan play some nice steel.

You should tell Lucy that she should hold the microphone further away so that it doesn't obscure her face. What's the point in being cute if you cover it up? Have you ever notice that the most attractive female singers realize this and take advantage of their looks whenever they can? Very Happy

Thanks Brother George. Alan I'll mention that to Lucy. From my seat I didn't really get to see where she held the mic. I only pay attention when my wife's not in the audience. When I sing I've been told to get a bigger mic and stay right on it. Go figure!!!!!!!!

Only if you're coming to Saluda Larry. You could give Joe Wright a run for his money. Only on the comedy part.
