As most of you know, I have been buying and refurbishing a lot of Mullen Guitars lately. In this day and age it can be a real headache trying to get factory support for parts, especially for older model guitars. I have been working closely with Mike Mantey at Mullen in an effort to provide service for your Mullen guitars here in TX. I just wanted to give Kudos Mike, Shawn, Del, And Dixie. They have been very prompt in the delivery of parts for ALL model Mullen guitars to support my efforts. Where can you get factory parts for a 25 yr old vintage Steel Guitar!...Own a Mullen!!
I am located in Grand Prairie TX and I am proud to affiliated with Mullen Guitars, both as an endorsee, and a distributor of their flagship G2...The finest PSG available today. And, If your older Mullen is in need of a little tweaking, or TLC...Give me a shout and ill be happy to shine'er up.... a gracious thanks to Mullen Guitars!

I'll chime in on this one.. A couple of weeks ago I was working on an older Mullen in my shop and needed parts. I called Mike in the middle of the morning and he said that he would get them right out. Two days later the parts were here. That is quick service.

Bump up for Mickey.

I sent my ancient Mullen (Serial No. 1955) to him and got a different guitar in return. It's so much easier to play now, especially on the C6 neck. The difference in the pedals and levers is hard to believe. She even sounds cleaner, and a little bit louder. All good things. Mickey is a great guy to deal with too, as many of you probably know.

Here are a few pics. This one was dirty...and much bluer too in her prime, as you can tell from the shots with the necks removed.

I will also jump in on this one. I ordered a Custom SD10 G2, and it came in better than I ever expected, and they are always there when you need assisstance for anything. And as for Mickey Adams, there is none better. Larry Baker

Awww...Thank you all for your kind words!!..And thank you Andrew for trusting me with your guitar...shes a real one of a kind no doubt. I was a little shocked to see the Royal "Ocean Blue" lacquer underneath the necks as she had faded into a soft purple color...Shes got a LOT of character, and I really enjoyed playing her for several hours after she was done...Im always available...No question too small...Write anytime if I can help!!...Peace!...Mick

I can't resist chiming in here and adding my kudos to Mickey ... man, his love of the Mullen guitar is unparalleled and his work is fantastic.

In the not too distant past, Mickey completely went through my 1986 Mullen and really brought new life to my guitar. For anyone interested in what he did for my Mullen, his refurbishing of my guitar can bee seen here: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=172131

Mickey is definitely "The Mullen Man" and I'll always trust my guitar to him whenever I need any work done on it. He's the best! Smile

I'd just like to say that I couldn't agree more with all of the nice comments here on Mickey's work. I had a minor problem with my zebra wood Mullen, and I took it to Mickey last night. He spent a couple of hours going over the guitar, and letting me check out his workshop, and his D12 G2. After a few minor adjustments, and a couple of new springs, my guitar is playing good as new. Mickey sure knows his Mullen guitars.

Thanks again Mickey, and as soon as I have the cash, I'll be bringing both of my Mullens to you to add the split tuners that we talked about.

David, good to see you on here. I couldn't agree more. Mickey really does excellent work and really approaches a guitar with the TLC and attention to detail it deserves.

Thanks for turning me onto that gig at the Rodeo Exchange with Jay's band. That was a really fun night (though we had a few technical sound problems). The poor sound guy got them worked out by the third set and it was good sailing from there. Thanks again for pointing me to that gig.

I think its so interesting and probably makes the PSG community unique in how well the brethren work together. People like Mickey and Bobbe Seymour and boat loads of others who sacrifice their time and share their knowledge, and learned ideas about this unique instrument. Yes, Mickey and others can make some money as a vocation in this art,and that is certainly acceptable but I think there is more love for the art than money anyhoo. In business for myself in the construction field, I have sat and thought about some of the aspects of say for instance building this instrument that is unique in its mere set up, part beautiful furniture, part aircraft transmission, and it perplexes me how anyone makes a profit, but I am thoroughly glad their love for it forces them onward. I think this forum is a testament to the help people extend to one another, and I know other instruments have their forums, I certainly doubt they are as cohesive and helpful as this one. Just my 2 cents!!

is an international bad boy.

hey Mickey...let me know the next time your in Austin...

lets drank some beer and wrangle some wild women.

Dood i'm gonna have to buy your dvd here soon. I'm about to move right outside Del Rio in July and work on a ranch.....there ain't nothing out there. No internet. No radio. no phone....theres one radio station that picks up from San Antonio....Called THE OUTLAW...and it's fuzzy.

it's way out in the hills. It might as well be Mexico. All there is to do is put in cedar post, write music about being a cowboy...and playing pedal steel on top of it. i'm conditioning myself mentally physically and spiritualy.

you got something i can wire that money over so i can get that dvd and book. I'm gonna need it man

You know i've spent all my time and money learning on this here pedal steel guitar. And it might never take me to japan like i want it to and it might take me till i'm 50 years old to get good. But i don't care. I'm gonna keep puttin that hammer down and give em hell when i get there.

Cause i'm a Texan

and Texans persevere
