It's snowing today so I took some time and made a chart of the fretboard that shows every note of the major scale. It is on excel, but I can save it a pdf. Is there a way I can post this for all to see, or save it as a picture file? I have openoffice.org and Microsoft Office. |

It is easy to play the steel guitar. Playing so that the audience finds it pleasing is the difficult act. |

You're welcome, I thought it would make nice visual to string some runs together. It has helped me find places to go when I get lost somewhere. I've finally gotten to where I can almost always find somewhere to go in the major scale. I need to focus on the minor scale now. I'll make a minor chart if there is any interest. |

Thats cool!
Reminds me of Joe Wright.
If it's still snowing and you have time,
can you post page 2? A+B pedals?
The minor one, Is that B+C?
Or A only?
Thanks,
Definitely interested.

This is a minor scale chart as well. C major is the same as A minor; D major is the same as B minor, etc. _________________ I give music lessons on several different instruments in Cambridge, NY (between Bennington, VT and Albany, NY). But my true love is pedal steel. I've been obsessed with steel since 1972; don't know anything I'd rather talk about... www.barryhyman.com |

I've updated this. Barry is right, you can play the major scale to sub for the minor, but this one is the actual minor scale written in order. If you will notice they are the same, just the order of the notes is different. I'm posting it in C. Move it back three frets and compare it to the original to see how they match up. Don't think about it too much though, it could blow your mind.
