I can remember way back that Silvertones were sold in Sears Roebuck Stores. I suspect that they were made by someone else for Sears. They were a relativily cheaper guitar compared to Oahus and Dickersons. None of these Guitars were in the same class as Rickenbachers and Gibsons. |

The model # escapes me right now but you can date it by looking in the pickup cavity. Mine is stamped F49- In Harmony-eze (who made this model for Sears) that stands for Fall 1949.
The pickup and control assy. is Gibson made straight out of a ca. 1941-42 EH-125 and the last EH-150s.
Very light weight wood costs some tone compared to a mahogany Gibson but a good armchair guitar.
Some people ask a lot of money, some not so much. _________________ Time flies like an eagle

I believe a few builders supplied Silvertone/Sears. I thought Valco supplied some also. |
