I believe Buddy Emmons used one for a while. I use it as a mainstay for steel practice. I really like the amp-mixing feature. I set up a "Twin" model really clean and mix in a "Marshall" for overdrive. The only problem I have with it is that it runs hot - both the unit and it's power supply can overheat, and then it starts switching channels and patches at random. I think Digitech does a pretty good job at constructing musical devices, but I can't trust the Genesis on a gig. I have a later edition RP250 that's more stable, and it certainly sounds better to me than the comparable Line 6 POD's, Vox's and other stuff.

When I heard that Buddy used one I got one. I've not had any problem with mine over heating. I used to use it alot in the studio and never had any problems. I've been using a Pod pro lately but, I'm going to try the G3 again.

I have one I use often. When I got it, it would start scrolling. I sent it back to Digitech and they replaced some parts and it works like new. I really like the quality of sound it gives on my presets. I have had zero problems once I got it back for them.

I don't play out, but I use one at home and think it sounds great. It is surprisingly quiet and very easy to program. Here is my setup: Show Pro - Telonics pedal - Genesis 3 - Behringer 12 channel mixer (using 2 channels, one from L out and one from R out) - Dynaudio powered monitors. I tried using it at church one time, but the sound board operator told me it was very noisy. Probably a gain problem which we didn't have time to fix during rehearsal. I have some really nice patches (delay, reverb, hall, chorus, vintage, etc.) if anyone wants to try them.

I've used one for the last 5 or 5 years. Recomended to me by Steve Sturm. No problems at all with it except the night the fiddle player got tangled up in cords and jerked it off the top of my amp, breaking off a plug in the right input! Good unit.
