I have a one of a kind D-10 Emmons push/pull for sale.
It is an 8 x 4, serial number 2072D (1975)
This guitar has not been played since being rebuilt.
It was completely disassembled and refinished in a beautiful sunburst lacquer finish.
As you maybe are aware, the wood necks that came on the p/p's were black. The necks on this guitar were refinished to match the cabinet and matching inlay was routed into the necks.
Another unusual feature about this guitar is that it is equipped with Super Kluson "waffleback" tuners.
These are the very top of the line Kluson tuners and usually only came on premium Gibson guitars. These tuners are not reproduction tuners, they are original from Emmons.
You will never see another guitar like this one, it is truly a work of art and I feel it is well worth the $4,250 I am asking for it.
It comes with a new case.
Thanks!

I'm a D-12 guy so it's not for me, but I noticed in the pictures, it has five knee levers. Are you going to remove one or was that a misprint?

Jim,
I put up the wrong pictures for under the hood shots.
I redid two p/p's at the same time and put up the undercarriage pictures from the other guitar. This guitar is exactly like the pictures, just minus the 5th knee lever.

Since you are a D-12 guy, I also have a D-12 p/p for sale if you twist my arm enough. It is an 8 X 4 in brown lacquer with metal necks, s/n 119 and truly outstanding.

i guess you mean the wood necks that came on 'formica' guitars were black, right? lacquer guitars had wood necks of any color and inlay. so this was originally a formica guitar?

Chris,
This guitar has always been a lacquered guitar.

It seems like all the wood necks I've ever seen on an Emmons p/p were black.

Am I mistaken?

erv..i had to check back..i have 2 lacquer p/p's..one is tobacco but the necks 'are' painted black, but with matching inlay. another was some kind of red with matching necks..i had to refinish it. anyway i dug out the old emmons guitar co. catalogue that had a flock of steels on the back page and all the pretty lacquer finishes had matching neck stain colors...green, blonde, blue, red, etc. they looked great and your steel looks similarly beautiful. the formica/wood neck guitars that john hughey and sonny garrish played had solid black (no inlay) necks.

Chris,
Thanks so much for clearing that up.
I know that I have seen Emmons guitars with black wood necks and I always wondered about why they would do such a thing. Now I realize that it was only done on formica guitars. I always thought that it was such a weird combination; wood necks on a formica guitar.

Erv..thats a beautiful p/p....are you coming to the Mead in Mar...if so you should bring it(if you still have it). I just sold my Black Beauty p/p..it took a very long time to sell it, and I had to take less money than I originally asked. Its tough out there! Jory

Erv,
Interesting info on the necks. I have a blonde laquer Emmons with inlayed wood necks which match the cabinet rather than being black. However, there were apparently laquer guitars with inlayed, black necks as well. Here's Toy Caldwell playing one with the Marshall Tucker Band:

Anyway, I hope I didn't interrupt the thread about your very beautiful guitar.

Though i seriously believe this wonderful guitar and me could develop a deep friendship. Smile
I'm a sucker for sunburst and this is a particular nice one.

Yes, it is truly a one of a kind push/pull.

I put a lot of time and $$$$ in getting this guitar to look and play like it does. Very Happy

John,
Thank you for that link to the steel player w/the Marshall Tucker band. Yes, that is a lacquered Emmons p/p with black necks plus the inlay.
