apologies if this has been covered before but!!! after recording onto my multi track recorder, then succesfully recording onto my tascam cd recorder, using a blank cdr, the recorded cd plays back on the tascam, but in car, or in a home cd player system, the recorded cdr will not play, why? what am doing wrong? should i be using cdrw instead? can anyone advise? _________________ There are no strangers, only friends you have yet to meet |

It sounds like you did not "finalize" the CD. What finalizing does, essentially, is writing a table of contents on the disc so that other CD players can recognize what is on the disc.
If you have the owners manual it will cover the process in there. Just look for the word "finalizing" in the table of contents or index. If you don't have the manual, you should be able to download it at www.tascam.com .

David, Thank you for your response, yes that must be it, i have only taken delivery of my tascam cd-rw4u in the last few days, second hand with no manual, will download the manual,and learn how to finalise, once again thanks for that, eddie _________________ There are no strangers, only friends you have yet to meet |
