I think Sho-Bud just pulled whatever was on top of the woodpile, without even looking at it. I've seen maple guitars with one very figured panel and one plain panel. I've also seen undersides of vinyl covered Mavericks that were more figured than a lot of Professionals. I know of one perm with Brazilian Rosewood on the aprons, and Indian Rosewood on the necks. I don't think they really cared a whole lot.

I think Bobby's right. Here's a couple of pics of my Rosewood and Maple F-tip. Notice that the E9th deck is much plainer than the C6th deck.

I would concur......they didn't go through alot of effort to match woods to some form of consistency Rolling Eyes
