This is currently on Ebay for $799 or best offer, plus $30 shipping. I'd be happy to make a sale through this forum and circumvent Ebay's fees. I'll take Paypal, money order or cash on pickup from Oradell, NJ. USA sales only, please.
No trades, unfortunately - I'm selling it to pay for a new archtop.
The Ebay auction.
The Ebay description:
Up for sale is a 1965 Supro 6422TR Tremo-Verb guitar amp, built by Valco. This amp uses a single 6V6 power tube, a 5Y3 rectifier and four 12AX7s to put out 5W through a 10" Jensen speaker. The amp is in excellent condition and is all original except the tubes. I believe that the amp has been serviced recently because it is extremely quiet - almost no hum at all. This model has reverb and tremolo, both of which are footswitchable. There are three inputs, one of which accentuates the treble frequencies. One input works only intermittantly, but otherwise the amp is in perfect electrical condition. There is moderate pitting on the control panel, but the tolex and grill cloth are very clean with only a few minor nicks.
[There are more pics plus a demo video in the Ebay auction.]

Noah, I have the Airline version of this same amp with a 12" Weber, couldn't ask for a better blues guitar amp! I bought mine (used), in 1969, so I don't have near that much money in it. |

Yup, this amp was sold under a few different brand names, including Airline and Gretsch. It was originally $149.50 new in 1965, which, adjusted for inflation, is a shade over $1000 today. I guess that was the cost of building a hand-wired amp in Chicago in those days. |
