I just wanted everyone to know that the Dairy State Steel Guitar Show will be March 19-21 at the Hotel Mead in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Our featured players will be Danny Hullihen of Jagwire fame, Mike"Cookie" Jones formerly with the newest member of the SGHOF Barbara Mandrell, and the fellow with the sometimes dual personality, Joe Wright. Also well known singer of RFD-TV, Maggie Mae will be a guest performer. These folks will be joined by several players from several states. The house band is the same line-up which will be lead by Roger Miller who himself was one of the staff guitarists at Scotty's this past year. For more details contact me or Mark or Susie. The addresses and phone numbers are on the website. Hope to see you all out there. |

Well the invites went out today. Just because you don't get an invite let me know folks if you are entertaining notions of playing the show. We usually take the players from the past year that played and ask them first. But since not everyone from then can make now there are openings that I end up having to fill and sometimes as all you show organizers know it could happen the day before. Even if you don't want to play come out anyway and maybe shoot me a line with your contact info so I can add you guys or gals to the player list. I am looking forward to Albert being here. It has been a long time since I have heard him or even talked with him. He a super player and just one fine example of the talent that plays this show.
Hey Tim thanks for the bump and the link. How is the guitar working I set up?
Speaking of links there is a page on the website that Mark put together for you Wisconsin steeplayers looking for gigs. That Mark Wayne is always doing something to the site to make it interesting. |

I received my invite today and for the first time in many years I'll be missing this fantastic event. I will be having treatment on that Friday and won't be in any condition to travel. I hope to be able to make it next year.
Craig, Susie, Roger and all the rest of you great people, thanks for your hard work to make it one of the highlights of my year.

We are sure going to miss you George but we understand. I wanted to post here that those folks staying at the Mead need to get their reservations in before they are sold out. Tell them you are with the show to get the rate. But do it ASAP since they go fast. |

How bout televising the show live on RFD so those of us unable to attend could see it. I'll bet Maggie Mae could pull some strings and get them to do it. . . . . . . |

Nick, that would be almost three days worth of show. It would be almost as long as the cattle auctions. I wouldn't want to leave anybody that played out. Maybe someday who knows. I know we are going to have a good time. |

Ok the schedule is made out and should be on the website anyday now as soon as webmaster Mark Wayne gets a chance to post it. The mead has a few new things they are going to do to make the week-end better including a couple of drink specials relating to the event. They are really getting into things this year. |
