Hey you Arizonans, tell me about your state.
We're not runnin from the law or tryin to scam out on back child support or anything bad like that we just are thinking maybe a warmer, dryer climate might be good for my wife's health. What the hell, we've lived here for a long time and we're getting restless.
Are the housing prices really what they say? Are there jobs? Tell me about the bugs and snakes and stuff too. Go ahead, I can take it. Remember I used to live in Madison TN where the roaches can carry off small children and pets in the dead of night.
We are considering the Verde Valley area south of Sedona. Any insights are appreciated.
Thanks in advance. If you want to just e-mail me directly that's ok too.

Hey BD, having just moved from Arizona in May, I must say it's a wonderful state. The climate isn't as alergy-free as it was 30-40 years ago. The population has tripled since I moved there in '70 but it's still a great place. We almost bought in the Verde Valley and may return someday but for now, we are on the Central Coast and loving it. The new SouthWest Steel Association is a thing that formed after I moved and would be a great motivator for the return sometime. |

BD if you live in Washington state where it rains a lot , you will appreciate Arizona where it hardly every rains. I lived in Phoenix in the early 70's , and Gary is right about what he said. The smog hasn't got to Sedona and the Verde Valley yet. So you can find some nice places....al |

I moved here 13 years ago from the Santa Rosa
area by way of Reno.
Not many bugs.....course one of the guys in our band has a pest control biz.
I'm self employed but it seems that there are jobs here.
Club work has diminished as it has everywhere
according to the reports on the forum.
The new SOUTHWEST STEEL GUITAR ASSN. has hit the ground runnin and a great bunch of folks they are.
We had a really good turn out today at our jam and heard some fine fine playing from Hal Rugg,(I see why he's in the country music hall of fame! Nice fella too!) Mike Smith, Billy Easton and a whole buncha great pickers.
It gets hot but I've gotten used to it and the fall-winter-spring time is WONDERFUL.
Hope to meet you if you come down here.
Jack

I am hoping that the majority of the population of Los Angeles will move to Arizona. |

Chas, thats what Phoenix is, a little LA. And eventually it will be another LA. Its amazing when you see all the open land still here, knowing its all gonna be houses and stores. I'd get out, but I'm kinda stuck here. Someday maybe. Will
Arizona is ok just don't move to the Phoenix area BD[This message was edited by Will Houston on 26 January 2003 at 10:13 PM.] |
