Can do, Ron....we miss having you and your brother Austin at our meetings and jams. Thanx, and I'll pass along your greeting.
Roy, Clyde is not online as of last check....but I'll tell him you said HEY!
Clyde has been a mainstay in this area back to the PeeWee King and Redd Stewart days and beyond...so I am told...this was before my involvement in music so I have no firsthand knowledge....just going by what I have heard. He is a fine man and is still dealing with the loss of his lovely wife Peggie...I'm sure He'll be excited to hear from you.

Yes, Jerry. What you heard about Clyde is true -- I can attest to that, as I was there during those years. Clyde Coffey was the finest steel man to ever come out of Louisville. He and I used to swap licks. Every time Joaquin Murphey came out with a new lick, Clyde and I would try to beat each other to the punch in learning it -- and Clyde ususlly got there first. I learned a lot from him. He was also a great electronics man; kept all of the musicians' amplifiers going. Clyde, Howard Whited (guitar) and I hung together a lot. I'm sorry to hear that he lost Peggy. She was a fine Christian woman.

Be sure to tell him to contact me.

My Goodness, Mr.Roy....
It is a small world indeed. I've Known Mr Clyde and his wife since 1974 when I was dating a Lady who sang for the "Sweet Adaline's" and was a member of the "Victory Memorial Baptist Church" on Southern Parkway and 3rd St., where Clyde and his wife attended also. I meet him when he played his Lap steel in the Church one night the same year. I helped him often when I worked at Emmons. I always made sure that he was a "Happy Camper"when he would order strings and such.. I love his style on the C6th neck. We have had a many a Jam session together when my Bro., Austin and I were members of the Louisville Steel Club.
While I'm at it, Roy, If you talk to Clyde, Tell him that God IS GOOD, and that I'm STILL CLEAN AND SOBER, By the Grace Of God.
