It may be a liyyle off topic as he is a six string player, but has anyone here been influenced by hisplaying? He certainly knows how to voice lead!

Slash is about the same age as me so I haven't been influenced by him. His influences are roughly the same as mine when it comes to rock guitar playing. I've always admired Slash's playing. He's not very technically gifted but there is great musicality about his playing which was sadly absent from a lot of the 80's hair metal bands.
I teach guitar now and I'm always amused when my 10 year old students want to learn the intro to Sweet Child of Mine. There's not much point in me saying "I'll show you the intro to Mama Tried and you'll see where those riffs come from...." They'll learn in time just like I did! |

If you ever hear him rock The Munsters theme, you know who suggested it.
Of course that score is a no brainer, but I've never heard anyone really do it and figured he would and certainly could. |
